Giordano Bruno's Lampas triginta statuarum, its place in his oeuvre and time
This dissertation focuses on Lampas triginta statuarum, a late and quite large encyclopedic and metaphysical work that was not published during Bruno’s lifetime. An analysis of specific differences between this work and Bruno’s earlier writings on the art of memory and metaphysics will reveal new data on the Nolan’s later thought, so that a clearer development can be traced in his works than has been done before. The significance of this development will follow from a contextual discussion of major theological and scientific issues in early modern Europe. The use and theory of imagery in Lampas and Bruno’s later works generally is awarded particular attention in a separate chapter.
