Collaboration with the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica (BHP)

The HHP centre and the BPH / EFM

Hermetically Open

The world-famous Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica (BPH), also known as The Ritman Library, is situated in the Embassy of the Free Mind (EFM) and is an indispensable resource for students of Western Esotericism. Since the library was reopened in 2011, the BPH and the HHP Centre have enjoyed a tighter relationship of collaboration. With the BPH’s new profile of “Hermetically Open”, and HHP’s commitment to furthering education and research in the field of Western Esotericism, collaboration between the library and the research centre at the Embassy of the Free Mind has already proved fruitful. In 2013 we started recording a series of webinar lectures, which can be viewed here. Our researchers have also occasionally contributed as guest authors at the BPH blog. More collaborative projects are planned for the future.

In November 2020 the State Owned Part of the Bibliotheca Philosofica Hermetica was transferred to the Special Collections at Allard Pierson. Allard Pierson is now included in the collaboration between the HHP Centre and BPH.

Stay tuned for updates!

We thank the BPH and the Embassy of the Free Mind for permission to use imagery from their collections in work on this website.
