IFW III: John Dee’s Monas Hieroglyphica (Forshaw)

In collaboration with the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica

“John Dee’s Monas Hieroglyphica“, by Peter Forshaw

In the third lecture Infinite Fire Webinar series, Peter Forshaw introduces the Elizabethan natural philosopher and magus John Dee, focusing on his Monas Hierpoglyphica. The monas symbol that Dee designed in this curious work has become ubiquitous in modern esoteric movements, but what was its original context? What was Dee trying to achieve with it? How does it relate to alchemy, astrology, magic, mathematics, and the kabbalah? Peter discusses this and much more in his third and last lecture in the IFW lecture series.
